HOW DOES LED LIGHT THERAPY WORK


Light emitting diodes or LED light therapy is the application of sending a broad band of light energy at a low intensity to the skin for therapeutic and anti aging purposes. LED's are effective in generating a response within living tissue because the packet of light activates or stimulates the ATP (adenosine triphosphate) within our body. ATP is a key chemical found in all living cells. ATP governs how our cells use energy thus is a very important factor in cell metabolism. In short ATP is fuel for our cells. When we boost our ATP we are prompting the cells to do what they do naturally....just at an accelerated rate. This increased energy will prompt the skin fibroblast to produce collagen and stabilize elastin proteins along with stimulating a healing response by the body. LED triggers the body to convert light energy into cell energy without thermal injuring the tissues. This however does not take away from its effectiveness. Studies show that cells exposed to LED Light Therapy have been found to grow 150% to 200% faster because the light delivered enhances cellular metabolism, accelerates the repair and replacement of damaged skin cells.

Visible red light (660) along with near infrared light (720) and above is beneficial in treating:

Visible red light activates skin cells and promotes blood circulation. Invisible or near infrared light is absorbed by the skin and used as energy to stimulate fibroblast cell activity, increase collagen and stabilize elastin proteins.
